J. Poland and the Pilots - “Airplanes”

Posted in Uncategorized by aditya on February 26th, 2006

Jessie Poland is a beautifully and curiously talented teenager who writes and performs her own music, influenced by such artists as Lisa Loeb, The Format, and coldplay. A true entertainer, Jessie started sporting her guitar around in the 8th grade and has since been spotted regularly playing many local coffeehouses and shows. A pop-rock with an edge kind of vibe gets through to you and brings you in.

Band Members:
Jessie Poland - vocals, guitar
Mike Basmagy - vocals, bass
Will Macirowski - keys
Ricky Joyce - drums
Cory Pula-Bowers - guitar

Ash Riot - “Glamour Glamour”

Posted in Uncategorized by aditya on February 17th, 2006

Time I’ll Forgive You…Again is the full length album from Vancouver singer-songwriter Ash Riot. Born and raised in Vancouver BC, Ash has been immersed within the culture and diversity in the deep urban playground of the Northern West Coast. This Time I’ll Forgive You…Again is the story of a 21 year-old artist with true rock ‘n roll spirit whose poetic lyrics could stitch the wounds of any hungry soul, rising from one experience to another, whether it be painful, beautiful, pensive or observant.

Ash has a way of holding the audience in the palms of her hands. With each song she punches through the speakers she’s sure to keep them within her grasp. From the true punk rock spirit that she unleashes, to the old school rock n’ roll that’s constantly sifting through her veins, she’s setting the audience on fire with her energy and originality.

Band Members:
Ash Riot - Acoustic & Electric Guitars and Lead Vocals
AJ - Lead Guitars and vocals
Ricardo - Drums and vocals
Spencer - Bass and vocals

Four Stories - “On The Ground”

Posted in Uncategorized by aditya on February 13th, 2006

Four Stories (formerly Burning Through) was formed when singer/guitarist Nick Tierney, bassist Alex Smith, drummer David Landrum and lead guitarist Patrick Verdi decided to quit their respective bands to form a straight-ahead modern rock group with two things in mind: impeccable song writing and uncompromising stage presence.

Their music possesses catchy lyrical hooks with amazing vocal harmonies, solid backbeats, infectious guitar riffs, and virtuoso guitar leads. The powerful vocals of Tierney and Verdi combined with the rock-solid rhythms created by Landrum and Smith produce what has become; “…a wave of sound and show that must be witnessed to be believed.” The band’s chemistry on stage is undeniable and the level of musicianship from band member to band member yields spectacular results night after night.

Band Members:
Nick Tierney: lead vocals/guitar
Patrick Verdi: lead guitar/vocals
Alex Smith: bass
Allen Skillman: drums

The Dammitheads - “The Heart Of The Matador”

Posted in Uncategorized by aditya on February 3rd, 2006

The Dammitheads are a rock and roll entity unabashed and unbowed. While the name serves to represent the group as a band, it more accurately puts to name the creative writing/recording vehicle and schizophrenic alter-ego for one otherwise begrudgingly titled singer/songwriter named David Tomaloff and his creative counterpart, drummer Steve Hawkins.

The Dammitheads are a strange contradiction by design that refuses to be defined by today’s oft too matter-of-course musical precepts, recording their own records as they see fit…damn the torpedoes…playing all of the instruments themselves and performing augmented versions of their songs live, as a two-piece.

Their objective is simple: to create music that speaks to those less spoken to by the whole of the mainstream and its various mediums, while simultaneously offering something to everyone who listens. Their sound recalls hints of bands such as The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, T-Rex, The Clash, Elvis Costello, The Cars and Gang of Four.

Stimulator - “78 Stimulator”

Posted in Uncategorized by aditya on February 1st, 2006

Stimulator’s quirky retro feel (which helped them score high profile gigs with the likes of Berlin & Missing Persons) is just one layer here. Make no mistake, this is a thoroughly modern musical unit with an impressive array of credentials and an understanding of technology’s ever-evolving role in music.

Band Members:
Susan Hyatt - Vocals
Geoff Tyson - Guitar and Keys
Sean Tichenor - Bass
Chad Stewart - Drums
C.C. - Keys
