Cantinero - “Make Me An Offer”

Posted in Uncategorized by aditya on May 16th, 2006

Cantinero is the nom de music of Chris Hicken, a prodigiously talented expatriate Brit who has made New York City his home for more than a decade. With his Artemis Records debut, “CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING,” the Birmingham, England-raised singer/producer/songwriter has fashioned a strikingly ingenious collection, blending organically created experimental textures with classic confessional popcraft. The songs of “CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING” veer from aching introspection to enlightened positivity, touching on a range of life’s big issues. “CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING” marks a potent introduction to a resourceful and gifted new artist.

Band Members:
Christopher Hicken: Vocals
Tim Bright: Guitar
Matt Beck: Guitar/Vocals

Angela Hammontree Band - “No Sympathy”

Posted in Uncategorized by aditya on May 16th, 2006

Angela Hammontree is a native Seattle area rock artist whose powerhouse vocals and inspired songwriting are her trademark. As a published writer and poet with a degree in creative writing, a multi-instrumentalist, and a trained vocalist, Angela brings many things to the table in her musical pursuits. The result is distinctly catchy songs with great hooks, arresting vocals, and lyrics that are as sincere as they can be scathing. Angela is often summed up as “the real deal” by those who see her perform, and although her fierce style of delivery is unique, her vocal prowess invokes the power of Chris Cornell, the range of Robert Plant, and the bold emotionality of Janis Joplin. The authentic nature of her talent and presence makes her a favorite among rockers who are seeking the substance missing from much of today’s rock music scene.

Band Members:
Angela Hammontree - vocals
Brooks Clark - guitar
Jeff Falbo - bass
Mike Cook - drums

LoversLane - “Hey Mary”

Posted in Uncategorized by aditya on May 16th, 2006

LoversLane Some say New York rock is dead. The club scene is dead. When people go out, they want to hear DJ’s… Obviously, these naysayers haven’t experienced LoversLane, screaming out of downtown NYC with a ferocity unseen since the glory days of punk. Like a long-needed kick in the ass, their searing guitar-driven sound will wake up anyone who’s been sleeping on New York rock. Yes, LoversLane has two songs on East Coast Commercial Radio rotation right now. And yes, they blew away a thousand-strong crowd at Webster Hall, New York’s notorious citadel of musical sin. And you should probably know that they’ve played major festivals from Montreal to Memphis, as well as headlining European rock festivals with the bands Hey and Kazik. That’s rock n’ roll. Bragg sings like the love child of Roger Waters and Ric Okasek - on PCP. And Brother Reg works his axe like he’s on a mission from god, spreading a gospel of fat licks and delicious tube distortion. Check out the songs “Falling Over” and “Holiday” - Lovers Lane are what everybody has been so desperately awaiting: pure, unrelenting 21st century Rock N’ Roll.

Band Members:
Stu Bragg - vocals
Alex Mroz - drums
Reggie Bragg - guitar
Antti - bass
